Last night when I was using my baby doppler I noticed a heartbeat on my left almost near my belly botton at the rate of 161 then I moved the probe to my right in the lower part of my stomach by my pelvic bone and there was a heartbeat at the rate of 146. what does this mean? I'm 18 weeks and 6 days

Have you had an ultrasound yet? I don't want to say it can't be twins but it's doubtful if you've had an ultrasound. I think ( if I remember correctly) you could've gotten the heartbeat once then the umbilical cord. I would definitely bring it up at your next appointment though !

I would think your doc would have either seen it on the ultrasound by now or at least picked up the second heartbeat.

I agree, if you've had an ultrasound done and there was only one baby then there's only one in there. Sometimes the baby's heartbeat can echo and it can be heard as a second heartbeat. That's what I was told when I was using my own Doppler.

Thanks all for responding. I go to the dr. on Monday. At first they did see two sacs at the very beginning but a week later they didn't. Twins runs in my husbands family and I've gained over 50 lbs and I'm only mow 20 weeks. This is my 5th child though. I'm very anxious. I will definitely keep you all posted. Thanks again

Keep us updated. It could be twins of they saw two sacs in the beginning. Maybe the other one was hiding.

Well if they saw two sacs early on its very possible. Hopefully they can figure it out soon.
