Because the forum is growing we are in need of more volunteer moderators.
Good communication skills include decent spelling and grammar, the ability to clearly communicate what you mean to say, and the ability to maintain a respectable public image. It’s not a popularity contest, but the public’s perception of you and your typical behavior is often indicative of your social and communication skills.
You will need that to navigate the trenches. No, just kidding :-) But with all the hormones flying around, varying personal beliefs, and different styles of parenting, you will need a level head to deal with situations properly.
To keep you sane! It also often helps with deflecting high tension situations.
Moderators should not be threatening, condescending, intimidating, or irritable. If moderation and dealing with new users is annoying to you, you shouldn’t be moderating. You should be able to come off as a friendly and approachable person. We are looking for those with the ability to apply moderation while still being friendly.

No! It's a volunteer position. What you will get is a warm fuzzy feeling inside, knowing your category is running smoothly and everybody is happy. If that’s not enough, you will also have access to the Living Room, a private corner on the forum for senior members; and of course, access to the Moderators Corner, another private room only available to moderators.
